Dr. Francesco CoronaCorpo Docente
Francesco Corona is a professor of Machine Learning of the Department of Computing (DC) at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and a docent of Information and Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science of the Aalto University (Finland). Francesco joined the Aalto University/Helsinki University of Technology as a post-doctoral researcher in January 2007, in 2009 he was appointed the docentship in Industrial applications of Machine Learning and in 2014 the docentship in Information and Computer Science. In 2016 he was appointed the professorship in Machine Learning and Logic in the Department of Computing of the UFC.
Francesco's interest concentrate on statistical machine learning, probabilistic modelling, and information visualisation: Emphasis is on full-scale applications to supervision, control, and optimisation of industrial and environmental systems.
He is member of IFAC, the International Federation of Automatic Control (since 2007). In IFAC, he is member of the Technical Commitee 8.4 on Biosystems and Bioprocesses (since 2011) where he serves as vice-chair (for industry, since 2017) and he is member of the IFAC Industry Committee (since 2018).
